5/9/2010 – Lenawee Mountain (13,204 ft) looms proudly above Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and has been calling to me since seeing it the first time a couple of years ago. So one May evening Jonny, Casey, and I headed out to camp in one of our favorite car-camping sites (across highway 6 from the CDOT shack) with plans to wake up early and bag the line before the lifts started turning. After waking up at 4:30am, only Jonny and I ended up heading out, with headlamps ablaze, to climb and ski Lenawee. The climb and descent went by quickly and we returned to the car with enough time to grab a spot on “the beach” and prepare for another spring gaper day.
