50 Classics: The Silver Couloir

4/13/2011 – After missing out on a couple opportunities to ski this classic line earlier in the year, I finally got my shot at it on a beautiful Wednesday.  The weather reports for the day didn’t sound too promising that morning (high chance of rain predicted for the afternoon), but our crew headed out anyways and ended up being rewarded with an incredible blue-sky descent.  On the skin track up, we met up with a couple of the Bent Gate Mountaineering crew and ended up skiing the line with them as well.  The conditions were wonderful packed powder (read: no speed limit) up on top that gradually evolved into shreddable spring mashed potatoes by the bottom.  The ski out took a bit longer than expected due to unforeseen navigational errors, but nonetheless added to the adventure of the day!  Enjoy the shots!
