2/4 to 2/10/2023 – With another kiddo on the way it was time that I got back up to see the Bomber family and to connect again with my best buddy Jonny. I flew up with a whole bunch of excitement regarding the new experiences of getting to meet June and getting to see Haines Junction in the winter. We did a whole bunch during my always-too-short visit… the activities included: shredding Mount Sima to pieces, relaxing and building stuff around the house, family xc skiing around Haines Junction, hitting up the rec center pool-sauna combo, wandering about some out the back door trails, dabbling in getting snowmobiles stuck and unstuck, consuming a necessary dosage of Tim Hortons, lapping up “5 mile” (name is debatably accurate) off Haines Pass, drinking a whole bunch of excellent tea, rallying through a 24 hour flu bug, fat-biking some classy groomed singletrack, and, most importantly, giggling a whole bunch with little June. After a week with the Bombers I was physically pooped but my soul was full of joy and love. It’s remarkable how well we sync up despite the tremendous distance between us.
